Next Generation Negative Pressure Wound Care Therapy

Used alongside a tightly sealed wound dressing, the mobile pump (featured above), pulls excess wound exudate from the wound bed reducing infection and accelerating treatment. The mobile form-factor, long battery life, and easily understood interface design enable patients to be treated at-home and ensure minimal disruptions to their lifestyle.

Patient-Centered Storyboards

Illustrated workflow storyboards that center around the patient’s lifestyle. Steps that include being treated at home with (and without) the instillation dock, and showcasing the mobile benefit of the new small form-factor.

Component Building Block Activity

End of life components like the battery, pump, and display were goals of the overall product development. These components were block-modeled and reconfigured in different mobile / desktop form-factors for concept sketching underlays.

2D Concept Exploration

The Building Block activity allowed for a basic discussion into a range of various configurations and form-factors centered around the display, pump, and wound exudate canister. A range of concepts were generated for feasibility discussion with internal stakeholders.

3D Exploration

Concepts were explored using Rhino 3D and Keyshot renderings. 3D Prints (with interface details photoshopped) were generated to verify mobility ergonomics and overall size.
